Basics on drawing a graph

Draw a pair of axes from –10 to +10
Answer
STEP 1:    The two axes can be the vertical and horizontal axes. The vertical number line is called the y-axis and the horizontal number line is called the x-axis.

We are asked to show the values from –10 to 10. So we draw a horizontal line and mark the values up to –10 to the left of the origin, and up to 10 to the right of the origin.

STEP 2:    Similarly, we draw a vertical line and mark the values up to –10 below the origin, and then up to 10 above the origin.

STEP 3:    Now, we intersect both the horizontal and vertical axes at the origin (0, 0) to get the pair of axes from –10 to 10.
